As part of the firm’s sixth annual Pro Bono & Community Service Week, Morgan Lewis hosted two prominent activists in the field of hunger prevention and food security, Billy Shore, founder of Share Our Strength, a nonprofit focused on ending childhood hunger in the United States, and Michael Hofmann of Welthungerhilfe, a German organization working on disaster relief, rural development, and food security.
Share Our Strength works to end child hunger by connecting children to nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals. This work is accomplished through the No Kid Hungry network, made up of private citizens, government officials, business leaders, and others providing innovative hunger solutions in their communities. Welthungerhilfe is one of Germany's largest aid organizations, battling against global hunger and for sustainable food security. The organization promotes agriculture suited to local conditions, access to clean water, the provision of modern, environmentally friendly energy, and the improvement of health and education.
