What Fund Managers Need to Know About Corporate Access: The Risks and Rewards of Speaking Directly With Issuer Management (Part One of Three), The Hedge Fund Law Report

Morgan Lewis partner David Miller is quoted in The Hedge Fund Law Report, detailing the risks and rewards of corporate access – meetings between institutional investors and company executives that cover general matters in the company, market, or industry. He explains in the article that investors use these meetings “to learn about the issuer’s competitors, as well as information that ultimately bears on the investor’s overall market strategy” and in return the company is able to evaluate potential shareholders. He further explains the risk of insider trading for information exchanged in the meeting.
