December 12, 2013

Morgan Lewis presented this one-hour webinar to discuss options available for protecting intellectual property rights (IPR) at the border. These options are available through U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) when your goods cross the border into the United States.

Topics addressed during the webinar will included:

  • CBP’s Enforcement of trademarks, trade names and copyrights recorded with CBP: the mechanics of recording; impact on importer goods and actions required by owners
  • CBP’s Enforcement of exclusion orders issued by the ITC to protect patents, and lessons learned from recent cases addressing customs enforcement
  • Understanding how the CBP enforcement process works for trademarks, trade names, copyrights and patents including seizures/forfeitures and interactions between various inter-agencies.
