On Dec. 4, President Barack Obama signed into the law the ‘‘Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act’’ authorizing the nation’s highway, transit and rail programs for a five-year period.
This marks the first significant multi-year, comprehensive surface transportation reauthorization law since enactment of the 2005 statute.
