The Video Protection Privacy Act (VPPA) was designed to protect consumers’ video history from being disclosed to third parties.

Yet, in today’s digital age, protecting consumer information presents new challenges. Not only can consumers and companies easily share consumer information, but the Internet has afforded companies with potential avenues to implicate the VPPA. As consumers continue to purchase or rent videos online, they may find that their private information is at risk of exposure.
