Bold DOJ Tactic in Health Fraud Case Spooks Doctors, Hospitals, Bloomberg Law

Morgan Lewis partner Matthew Hogan was interviewed by Bloomberg Law regarding the future implications of the US Department of Justice’s use of the Travel Act in a health-care referral fraud case. “That wouldn’t surprise me at all if we see cases that involve purely commercial payers,” said Matt in the article. “If the government perceives there is a problem in the way a referral system is set up, the government could say we have an interest in protecting these commercial enterprises from what the government perceives to be improper influence.”
