Morgan Lewis partner Levi McAllister and associate Arjun Ramadevanahalli authored an article for Law360 on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Order No. 841, which may change the regulatory landscape for energy storage participation in competitive electricity markets. The order amended FERC’s regulations to remove barriers to the participation of electric storage resources in the capacity, energy and ancillary service markets operated by regional transmission organizations, or RTOs, and independent system operators, or ISOs.
