In the January/February 2018 issue of the Food and Drug Law Institute’s (FDLI) Update Magazine, Morgan Lewis lawyer Amaru Sanchez discusses the potential regulatory challenges for a novel product known as “cell-cultured meat” or meat grown in a cell culture instead of an animal. This product is part of a larger emerging area of biotechnology known as “cellular agriculture” which entails producing agricultural products from the cellular level as opposed to the whole plant or animal.
