OFCCP Revisions to Affirmative Action Requirements for Individuals with Disabilities and Disabled Veterans

On August 27, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) issued final regulations that significantly revise the affirmative action obligations of federal contractors and subcontractors regarding individuals with disabilities and protected veterans under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974. These regulations will impose significant new requirements on contractors, including utilization goals and hiring benchmarks.
