Regulatory Issues Associated with Investments in Electric Industry Infrastructure

May 23, 2013

On May 23 Morgan Lewis presented a one-hour webinar discussing the regulatory issues associated with investments in electric industry infrastructure and infrastructure funds.

Investors and potential investors in electric industry infrastructure and infrastructure funds (i.e., funds that own solar projects, wind farms, other energy generation assets, and energy transmission assets) need to know about the federal regulatory issues raised by any such investment. Ownership, even indirectly, of assets used to make wholesale sales of electric energy or to transmit electric energy in interstate commerce can subject an entity to regulation by FERC. Our presenters will explain the regulations, showing investors how to invest without becoming a public utility or holding company, and they will examine the compliance obligations of nontraditional utilities.

Presenters:
Floyd L. Norton, IV | Energy, Washington, D.C.
Levi McAllister | Energy, Washington, D.C.
