Society’s reliance on electronic devices has left many wondering whether technology can replace human interaction, particularly in the workplace. Advancements such as the Internet have provided employees with the option to “telecommute,” or work from home, instead of commuting to an office. Telecommunication has many benefits for both employees and employers. In particular, telecommunication offers persons who suffer from disabilities that inhibit workplace performance more employment opportunities.
