On May 11, 2016, President Barack Obama signed the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 (DTSA), the most significant trade secret reform in decades. After years of bipartisan negotiation, the law estab-lished uniform protections for trade secret owners across the United States. Unlike most legislation in to-day’s political climate, the DTSA received overwhelm-ing support in both houses of Congress.
