Jeannine T. Bishop advises corporate and real estate clients on the acquisition, development, financing, and leasing of commercial properties that include offices, storage facilities, retail and convenience stores, medical buildings, properties leased to financial institutions, shopping centers, gas stations, and development parcels. In addition, she has represented clients on the real estate aspects of pipeline projects and acts as local counsel for real estate financing matters. In 2020, Jeannine was recognized in connection with a transaction listed among Philadelphia Business Journal’s Deals of the Year. She also serves as the deputy practice leader of the real estate practice and the real estate lead on the firm’s retail and ecommerce industry initiative.

Jeannine’s clients include real estate investment trusts (REITs), private real estate companies, retailers, pension trusts, and corporate clients. She regularly manages the acquisition and sale of multiple-property portfolios of all sizes, assists with the real estate aspects of corporate acquisitions and mergers, and represents top storage industry clients in all aspects of their acquisition, disposition, and financing matters. In addition, her practice includes representing clients in the leasing of office and warehouse space as well as counseling clients in the energy space with respect to pipelines and easement matters.

In addition to the above, she has represented both telecommunications companies during the site development process as well as landlords in the leasing to telecommunication providers. Recently, she has also counseled clients on leasing matters related to coronavirus (COVID-19), including lease negotiations and business operation matters.

  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in the acquisition and disposition of more than 1,000 properties over 24 months. Representation included title, survey, and zoning diligence; leaseback transactions; complex easements; and closing preparation.
  • Represented a real estate investment manager in connection with multiple acquisitions valued at $700 million and $195 million in multiple states. Representation included negotiations of agreement of sale through closing.
  • Represented a national REIT in connection with a new $450 million credit facility. The loan facility was primarily secured by a large portfolio of real property assets of the REIT and several of its subsidiaries.
  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in a sale transaction valued at $3.3 billion. The deal included the sale of 29.2 million square feet of space in hundreds of properties in 38 states and the District of Columbia. The deal required the coordination of more than 200 affiliate property transfers, loan assumption and defeasance work, and local counsel mortgage reviews and transfer tax guidance throughout the United States.
  • Represented a company in the build-out of an entire telecom network throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including rights to use dark fiber and collocation negotiations.
  • Represented a nontraded REIT in its acquisition and leaseback of a newly constructed 150,000+ square-foot freight facility.
  • Represented a multi-employer benefit plan as landlord in a $158 million lease for 238,000 square feet of space of in downtown Washington, D.C. The deal was recognized as the 2012 lease renewal of the year in the Washington Business Journal.
  • Represented global resources company in the real estate aspects of a $12.1 billion acquisition.
  • Represented fitness industry clients in the acquisition and leasing of gyms, health and wellness facilities and landlords in the leasing of fitness space for corporate tenants.
  • Represented various media companies in the disposition of their real estate to warehouse and industrial uses as digital platforms mix with print industry.
