Latiera Scott-Johnson represents clients in a variety of industries in complex civil litigation matters, class action defense, and corporate investigations. Her experience spans both federal and state courts. In her first year of practice, Latiera successfully tried and won a small claims case in Cook County.
Latiera also maintains an active pro bono practice advocating for clients in the areas of housing discrimination, prisoners’ rights, unlawful arrest, asylum, post-conviction relief, and relief under the Illinois’ Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission Act. Most recently, she worked on the successful exoneration case of Demond Weston, leading to his prison release after more than 29 years of incarceration.
