Terese M. Schireson represents clients in diverse areas, including privacy and cybersecurity, class action litigation, and complex commercial disputes, in state and federal courts across the country. She primarily counsels and defends clients in matters relating to compliance with new consumer privacy laws, data security incident response, and any related litigation or government investigations.
Terese also defends companies in litigation involving breach of contract, unfair competition, fraud, and consumer protection claims and advises consumer-facing clients on legal, regulatory, and operational matters. She serves clients across diverse industries, including the retail, energy, technology, and healthcare sectors. Terese is a member of the firm’s global privacy and cybersecurity practice as well as its Class Action Working Group.
Terese maintains an active pro bono practice focused on assisting clients with asylum and citizenship applications. She is fluent in Spanish, and in July 2018, she traveled to the US-Mexico border to help reunite families who had been separated upon entry into the country. In 2022, she had the honor of serving as a Distinguished Guest Speaker at a naturalization ceremony for new US citizens.
Terese began her legal career as a federal law clerk to Judge Joel H. Slomsky and Judge Cynthia M. Rufe of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. During law school, she served as managing editor of the Temple Law Review and as an intern for Judge Gene E.K. Pratter of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
In 2021, Terese was designated by the Eastern District of Pennsylvania to serve on a Merit Selection Panel to review two magistrate judges for reappointment.
