WMACCA Global Issues and Employment and Labor Forum

26 сентября 2013 г.
12:00 - 02:00 Eastern Daylight Time

Immigration and Nationality partners Eric Bord, Eleanor Pelta and Tracy L. Schampers, Associate General Counsel, Deltek Inc., will present "Knowing Where Waldo Is and Keeping Waldo Lawfully Employed — Ten Best Practices for Managing the Legal Challenges Presented by an Increasingly Global Workforce" for the Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association's (WMACCA's) Global Issues and Employment and Labor Forum.

The business world is becoming increasingly borderless, but governments still create obstacles to the employment of foreign national workers. Countries around the world are becoming increasingly restrictive about which workers are eligible to enter as visitors and which cannot enter without first obtaining a work permit. This seminar will equip in-house counsel to ask relevant questions, identify risky scenarios, make informed assessments, and know when to seek outside assistance in connection with the special issues presented by foreign national employees and the global visa needs of an increasingly mobile and multinational workforce.

Topics will include:

  • Employment of foreign nationals
  • Immigration implications of corporate transactions and reorganizations
  • Cross-border business travel
  • What recruiters need to know about foreign national talent
  • Benefiting from global talent without taking on unnecessary risk
