The Law Society: Competition Section 1st International Summer Antitrust Conference 2021

23 июня 2021 г.

The UK competition law field has been part of the EU legal landscape for many years but now enters a new period of independence, with EU law running alongside the UK regime. The UK competition law profession is now, more than ever, part of the international landscape.

This conference is structured with a mix of engaging panel sessions chaired by recognized authorities in the competition law field, with sessions aimed at:

  • Developing an awareness of all updates regarding merger control, antitrust enforcement, and competition litigation
  • Gaining invaluable tips to be explored from panelists covering recent cases
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the key issues that competition law practitioners will face within the next 12 months

Partner Omar Shah is chairing a session titled, Life Sciences and Healthcare – On the Antitrust Operating Table? Partner Brendan Fee is one of three panel members speaking on this session.
Key areas that will be covered during the conference include:

  • The implications of Brexit for UK competition policy
  • Digital regulation and antitrust/abuse cases: What are the real issues?
  • Merger control
  • Environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability and ethics in competition law
  • Is competition law doing enough to support diversity?

In each area, panelists will cover both UK and international developments and compare and contrast the regimes.
