ACI’s US Export & Reexport Compliance For Canadian Operations

26 января 2022 г. - 27 января 2022 г.

International trade and national security practice leader Giovanna Cinelli will speak at ACI’s US Export & Reexport Compliance For Canadian Operations.

Over the last decade, this acclaimed event has gathered senior US and Canadian government officials, as well as legal and compliance experts from aerospace, defense, technology, satellite, space, telecom, energy, logistics, and many more industries. ACI will host this event in-person this year (following all local COVID-19 measures) to give a chance for attendees to network once again in-person. The event will also be livestreamed to give a wider audience a chance to access the expertise and updates shared by our speaker faculty.

As in past years, the 2022 agenda will focus on the most complex issues posed by the interplay of US and Canadian export/re-export controls, as well as the nuances of applying US requirements to the Canadian context.

Giovanna’s presentation, “The Latest Expansion of MEU, MIEU, CCMC — and More EAR Requirements: Hidden Lessons for Updating Compliance and Licensing Practices,” will take place on January 26, 2022 at 9:45 am EST.

Topics will include:

  • The nuances across the different scopes and sources of prohibitions regarding each set of Chinese trade control policies
  • Key guidance on compliance, licensing requirements and heightened due diligence requirements for potential dual-use sales and technology transfers
  • How industry is updating screening, compliance policies and procedures around MEU, MIEU and CCMC Regulations
  • Amendments to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to expand license requirements on exports, re-exports, and transfers of items intended for military end use (MEU) and military-intelligence end users (MIEU) in China
  • Trends in license applications, approvals and denials-and lessons learned
