NEW YORK, November 9, 2016: Morgan Lewis represented China’s largest life insurance company, China Life Insurance Co. Ltd., in connection with its $940 million investment in a platform managed by Starwood Capital and formed to acquire a portfolio of 280 select-service hotels in the United States.
China Life will serve as both the anchor and leading investor for the portfolio alongside a group of sovereign wealth funds and other investors. The portfolio – spanning locations in 40 states – consists of select-service hotels affiliated with premier global hospitality brands.
