PHILADELPHIA, August 17, 2018: Morgan Lewis Chair Jami McKeon has been named among the law firm partners, general counsel, and in-house lawyers to be honored with a 2018 National Women in Law Award from publications Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel. The annual awards are presented to female lawyers who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing and empowering women in the legal profession.

A passionate advocate for gender parity and increasing the number of women in law firm leadership roles, Ms. McKeon has appointed dozens of women as office managing partners, practice group leaders, industry sector leaders, and firm advisory board and compensation committee members.

“This award is a testament to our core commitment to promoting women to senior leadership roles, which sends a clear message to all of our lawyers that they have every opportunity for career development and advancement at Morgan Lewis,” said Ms. McKeon. “And I am particularly honored to be included among this group of extraordinary women, which includes many friends who are general counsel and senior lawyers at some of our most valued longtime clients.”

Ms. McKeon became chair of Morgan Lewis in 2014 and is the first woman to lead the firm in its 145-year history. She also is one of the few women today leading an elite global law firm. In 2015, Ms. McKeon launched ML Women, an initiative that harnesses the strength of the firm’s women through partnerships with clients and creates opportunities for women to come together around a shared industry or practice.
