Morgan Lewis partner William Yonge was interviewed for an article on Risk.net about the European Commission considering regulating spot foreign exchange (spot FX) under MiFID II. According to William, including spot FX in a sub-section of the Market Abuse Regulation may be the way forward. He said that as the regulation focuses on exchange-traded financial instruments, it is difficult to see how spot FX would fit under the existing regulation.
