FCC Really Is Busier Than Ever With Growing Focus on Security: Former Enforcement Chief, Communications Daily

Partner Loyaan Egal spoke to Communications Daily to discuss the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) expanding focus on national security, data protection, and enforcement activity.

Loyaan highlighted the FCC’s increasing regulatory demands on telecommunications providers, including new requirements for interconnected Voice over Internet Protocol providers and broader efforts to combat illegal robocalls, as well as the agency’s expanded role and the resulting compliance implications for industry participants.

The latest rule is “just another step” the FCC is taking to try to “put more strength and force behind its efforts to address robocalls” and “making sure the commission is doing everything it can,” Loyaan said.
