Jordan D. Hershman

Counsel

Jordan D. Hershman, who retired from the partnership in September 2023, currently serves as counsel to Morgan Lewis, focusing his advocacy exclusively on pro bono work relating to issues of importance to him and the firm, including the erosion of democracy, attacks on LGBTQ+ rights, the rise in antisemitism, and the fight against terrorism, among others. Jordan is the former leader of the securities litigation practice at Morgan Lewis, which BTI Consulting Group has recognized as one of five Powerhouse Firms GCs Prefer for Securities Litigation. Jordan has been named a Leading Lawyer by Chambers USA, Lawdragon 3000, and Benchmark Litigation, and he has been recognized perennially by Super Lawyers as one of the top lawyers in Massachusetts. In 2022, The Best Lawyers in America recognized Jordan as Lawyer of the Year for Securities Litigation in Boston.

Extended Profile

Among his current pro bono matters, Jordan is representing GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders and other gay rights organizations in cases challenging anti-transgender statutes enacted in Arizona and Oklahoma. He is also part of the team of Morgan Lewis lawyers collaborating with, among other organizations, the Anti-Defamation League to service the Campus Antisemitism Legal Line (CALL), a helpline to provide free legal services to Jewish students and faculty facing antisemitism amid increased reports of antisemitic acts on college campuses.
