Vanessa also advises mid- and large-cap corporates in their fundraising activities, which range from early-stage investments to pre-exit fundraising structures, as well as joint ventures, acquisitions, disposals, and general corporate work. Vanessa acts for listed companies in other capital market transactions, including initial public offerings, acquisitions, divestments, and fundraising exercises such as placements and rights issues. She also provides counsel on continuing listing obligations.

Vanessa is trusted by clients for her sharp business acumen as well as her strong negotiation and people management skills. She is also highly regarded by clients as a commercial strategist who understands clients’ business needs and provides viable commercial solutions from a legal perspective.

In 2017, Asian Legal Business recognized Vanessa as one of its top 40 Under 40 lawyers in Singapore.

In the 2022 edition of Chambers Asia-Pacific, Vanessa was highlighted as a “notable practitioner” who is “well versed in advising emerging and growth companies on fund raising mandates.” Chambers also noted that a client described Vanessa as “very personable and knowledgeable,” adding that “she is a problem solver.”

Vanessa co-authored the chapter “Mergers & Acquisitions of State-Owned Enterprises in China” in Mergers and Acquisitions in China, published by Sweet and Maxwell Asia. Before joining Morgan Lewis, Vanessa was a director at a regional Singapore law firm.
