Customer Protection Initiatives: The Good, the Bad and the Unintended Consequences

The fall meeting of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's Working Group on Financial Markets. In an effort to present topical subjects when we can, we have assembled a panel of three industry professionals to examine some of the proposed customer protection (segregation) initiatives within the framework of other probable changes in clearing and settlement.

Panelists include Michelle McCarthy, Managing Director and Head of the Risk Management function at Nuveen Investments, Kevin Murphy, Director, at Barclays Bank, PLC and Michael Philipp, Partner, at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. John McPartland will act as moderator. We anticipate considerable audience participation at this particular Working Group Meeting.
