Partner Reece Hirsch and of counsel Dr. Axel Spies will be panelists at George Washington University’s Privacy + Security Forum Fall Academy in Washington, DC. The Privacy + Security Forum brings together seasoned thought leaders in privacy and security. Network with privacy professionals, security professionals, chief information officers, attorneys, academics, experts from NGOs and think tanks, technologists, policymakers, and many others with strong ties to the privacy and security community.
Axel will be a panelist on “EU Privacy + Security Law” on Wednesday, November 2nd.
Reece will speak on the panel, “Digital Health Privacy: FTC and OCR Perspectives,” on Friday, November 4. The panel will address the latest regulatory and enforcement trends regarding digital health privacy—encompassing smart medical devices, wearables, mobile apps, and artificial intelligence. Reece will be joined by US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) office for Civil Rights Health Information Privacy Specialist Lisa Goldstein and US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Division of Privacy and Identity Protection lawyer Ronnie Solomon who together will use a series of hypotheticals to highlight the overlapping jurisdiction of the FTC and the HHS Office for Civil Rights to regulate digital health products.
