Palo Alto, CA, September 24, 2012: ActiveVideo Networks today announced that it has resolved its ongoing patent dispute with Verizon Communications. The case is ActiveVideo Networks, Inc. v. Verizon Communications, Inc. et al.
The settlement follows the Federal Circuit's decision affirming the validity of ActiveVideo patents and the jury verdict against Verizon, however the terms of the agreement remain confidential. The companies did announce that they have agreed to cross-license their patents and covenanted not to sue each other for a period of years. Verizon has also agreed to pay the $260 million previously ordered by the district court and an additional unspecified amount of money.
