Morgan Lewis partners Grace Speights and Robin Nunn spoke with Bloomberg Law about their experience as two of the few veteran Black women litigators in the field. In the Q&A, they shared their different paths to law, the discrimination they’ve experienced on account of being Black female lawyers, and the impact of the national focus on racial justice.
They also discussed what law firms can do to advance racial diversity and inclusion. Grace highlighted the need for targeted programs, such as Morgan Lewis’s Mobilizing for Equality Task Force, which addresses issues like access to education, voting rights, and impact litigation. Robin spoke about intentional recruiting and addressing systematic racism in Big Law.
