District Court Invalidates Local Ordinance Prohibiting the Disposal of Waste from Natural Gas Development, Environmental Liability, Enforcement & Penalties Reporter, Vol. 26 No. 1

Ever since the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's 2013 landmark decision in Robinson Township v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania municipalities throughout Pennsylvania have enacted ordinances that limit or prohibit activities relating to natural gas drilling and hydraulic fracturing.

In response, industry groups and individual companies have filed lawsuits requesting that the ordinances be invalidated through what is now commonly known as "validity challenges."
