Former Morgan Lewis Partner Crystal S. Carey Sworn In as NLRB General Counsel

2026年01月07日

WASHINGTON, DC, January 7, 2026: Former Morgan Lewis labor and employment partner Crystal S. Carey was sworn in today as General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Crystal will serve a four-year term.

“We are proud of our firm’s long history of partners being chosen to serve in NLRB leadership roles, including several former Board members currently in our partnership—two of whom served as Chairman,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Crystal is an outstanding lawyer with deep experience at the agency and in private practice, and we’re confident she will serve with distinction as General Counsel.”

Crystal brings an extensive background to the role, having begun her labor law career at the NLRB as an intern in the Baltimore Regional Office while attending Penn State Dickinson School of Law. After graduating, she served as a field attorney in NLRB Region 5 before joining the agency’s headquarters, where she worked in the Division of Enforcement Litigation in the Office of Appeals and later as senior staff counsel to then-Chairman Philip A. Miscimarra, who is now a partner at Morgan Lewis.

In 2018, Crystal transitioned to private practice at Morgan Lewis, where she was elevated to partner in 2024, and advised clients on a wide range of labor and employment matters.
