Jeannine T. Bishop is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Real Estate Practice. Ms. Bishop focuses her practice in the representation of real estate and corporate clients, including REITs, privately held real estate companies, and corporate real estate users in their acquisition, development, financing, and leasing of commercial and retail properties, including office and medical buildings, properties leased to financial institutions, shopping centers, and development parcels.

Ms. Bishop regularly manages the acquisition and sale of real estate bulk portfolios, consisting of a few to hundreds of properties per transaction. She also has an in-depth background in the representation of telecommunication companies with respect to their entire site development process.

Ms. Bishop is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Selected Representations

  • Represented a national self-storage REIT in connection with a new $450 million syndicated secured credit facility. The loan facility was primarily secured by a large portfolio of real property assets of the REIT and several of its subsidiaries.
  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in a sale transaction valued at $3.3 billion. The deal included the sale of 29.2 million square feet of space in hundreds of properties in 38 states and the District of Columbia. The deal required the coordination of more than 200 affiliate property transfers, loan assumption and defeasance work, and local counsel mortgage reviews and transfer tax guidance throughout the United States.
  • Represented a company in the build-out of an entire telecom network throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including rights to use dark fiber and collocation negotiations.
  • Represented a public storage REIT in obtaining multiple secured term loans. The loans are secured by a number of the company's self-storage properties in various locations throughout the country.
  • Represented a nontraded REIT in its acquisition and leaseback of a newly constructed 150,000+ square-foot freight facility.
  • Represented a REIT in joint venture for complex multiple property investment.
  • Represented a publicly traded REIT in the acquisition and disposition of more than 1,300 properties over the past 5+ years. Representation has included title, survey, and zoning diligence; leaseback transactions; complex easements; and closing preparation.
