Philadelphia Business Journal Recognizes Morgan Lewis Partners Among 2023 ‘Best of the Bar’

PHILADELPHIA, September 13, 2023: Four Morgan Lewis partners have been named to the 2023 Philadelphia Business Journal Best of the Bar list. The annual awards recognize Greater Philadelphia’s top lawyers across 11 categories based on recent achievements, including legal significance, size of results, and business impact of their work.

The following Morgan Lewis partners were selected for inclusion:

  • Michael Banks, Pro Bono
  • Jeremy Blumenfeld, Employment Litigation
  • Kelly Gibson, Business Litigation
  • Benjamin Wills, Corporate Law

Michael’s pro bono work includes helping free Ricky Warner, a pro bono client who was wrongfully convicted of a 1985 murder in New Orleans and sentenced to life in jail without parole. Michael litigates employment, benefits, commercial, professional liability, intellectual property, and personal injury issues in US state and federal courts.

Jeremy, co-chair of the firm’s Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) litigation practice, represents defendants on a range of employee benefit litigation matters, including numerous ERISA class actions and class action claims challenging the administration of 401(k) savings plans. He also advises clients on litigation risk and avoidance.

Kelly is a co-leader of the firm’s securities enforcement practice and the firm’s ESG and sustainability advisory practice. She advises and defends public companies, financial services clients, and their executives in US Securities and Exchange Commission, self-regulatory organization, and state enforcement matters, as well as in internal investigations.

Ben co-leads the firm’s global mergers and acquisitions practice and has spent more than 20 years advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, securities compliance, and corporate governance issues. Ben’s practice spans a variety of industries, including energy, life sciences, telecommunications, technology, financial services, and manufacturing.

Michael, Jeremy, Kelly, Ben, and the other honorees will be celebrated at a November 16 awards dinner in Philadelphia and featured in a special edition of Philadelphia Business Journal on November 17.
