Drew Cleary Jordan
Drew Cleary Jordan represents national and international clients in crisis management and complex litigation, focusing on environmental, mass and toxic tort, multidistrict, class action, and product liability matters. Drew’s environmental and litigation practice includes representing and counseling clients across multiple regulated industries in connection with public nuisance claims, “greenwashing” claims, enforcement proceedings and investigations, regulatory compliance, and contribution and cost recovery claims under state and federal environmental statutes and related common law causes of action. He also counsels clients on emerging contaminants, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
Drew routinely works with clients on litigation avoidance and to develop and implement risk management strategies. He has also been at the forefront of some of the most high-profile environmental litigation in the country, such as the Aliso Canyon gas leak. He has experience with a range of federal and state environmental statutes, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA/Superfund), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
Drew advises clients on settlement discussions, negotiating with government and regulatory agencies, contaminated site investigations, and formation of potentially responsible party groups in connection with contaminated sites. Drew handles matters involving groundwater and drinking water contamination, hazardous materials and wastes, property damage, contaminant migration, and historic war plants. He works closely with experts and consultants on complex environmental and regulatory issues in the areas of contaminated site remediation, vapor intrusion, groundwater modeling, and economic damages modeling. As part of his environmental counseling and litigation practice, Drew is also part of the firm’s ESG and sustainability advisory, carbon, and climate industry teams.
Drew also defends clients in matters involving consumer class action, fraud and RICO litigation, state attorneys general investigations, consumer protection, business and corporate disputes, and intellectual property. Drew also has experience with privacy, cybersecurity, and data security laws.
Drew previously served on the Princeton Pro Bono Committee and currently serves on the Washington, DC Pro Bono Committee, including as vice chair from 2019 to 2022. He also served as the associate representative for the Princeton office. Drew frequently authors articles and speaks on issues involving emerging contaminants.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Drew served as a law clerk to Judge Danny C. Reeves in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Drew spent two summers interning for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) during law school.
