ICYMI Shareholder Activism Defense October 17 webinar
On October 17, 2018, Morgan Lewis corporate partner and shareholder activism defense practice leader Keith E. Gottfried and corporate partner Sean M. Donahue presented the webinar, “Shareholder Activism Defense: How Founder/Former CEO-Led Shareholder Activism Campaigns Differ From Other Activism Campaigns.” In case you missed it, a recording of this webinar is now available on-demand at the link below. You can also access on-demand any of our earlier shareholder activism defense webinars.
This webinar provided an overview of how founder/former CEO-led shareholder activism campaigns are different from other activism campaigns such as those led by hedge funds with no historical ties to the company. Among the topics explored were how the goals of a founder/former CEO activist differ from a hedge fund or other activist investor with no historical ties to the company, how a company and its board of directors can be vulnerable to a founder/former CEO activist, strategies for responding to an activism campaign from a founder/former CEO activist, and strategies for how a company can lessen its vulnerability to a founder/former CEO activist.
