11 mars 2026

PHILADELPHIA, March 11, 2026: As cities and leagues navigate the legal and commercial complexities of hosting global sporting events and managing evolving labor relationships, panelists at the 2026 Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal Symposium at Villanova University will explore these developments in a half-day program focused on the legal frameworks shaping the business of sports.

Morgan Lewis partner and chairman of the firm’s global sports industry team Jeff Moorad will participate in discussions examining the evolving governance structures shaping today’s sports landscape and the legal and commercial frameworks influencing leagues, events, and stakeholders across the industry. Associate Jesse Taylor will join a conversation examining the broader role of government entities and related stakeholders in bidding for major global and national sporting events and the key legal and regulatory issues involved in hosting global events such as the FIFA World Cup.

The event will also feature a panel analyzing the evolving relationship between leagues and player unions, exploring collective bargaining trends and governance considerations affecting both professional and collegiate sports, as well as a young alumni panel that will include associate Sydney Baxter.

Morgan Lewis advises clients in the sports industry on the complex management and business challenges facing professional sports teams and leagues, collegiate athletic programs, conferences and governing bodies, media companies and broadcasters, buyers and sellers, executives and key management, investors and owners, and PE and venture capital funds.

Tickets for the in-person symposium are available through the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. Pennsylvania CLE credits are available upon registration.
