Cory E. Barry focuses his practice on representing issuers, underwriters, borrowers, and lenders in securitization and structured finance transactions relating to various receivables and financial assets. These financing transactions involve clients in the financial services, automotive, and fintech sectors. He also advises clients on financial regulatory matters, including the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and related rulemaking initiatives. Cory serves on the firm’s technology and digital banking industry teams and is a member of the Washington, DC office recruiting committee.
Cory regularly represents financial institutions in connection with the public and private issuance of corporate and asset-backed fixed income securities, asset-based lending, and term issuance and ABCP financing of various assets. He has experience with many types of financial assets and other collateral, including marketplace/peer-to-peer loans and other unsecured consumer loans, credit card receivables, dealer floorplan loans, wireless equipment installment plan (EIP) contracts, equipment loan and lease receivables, consumer healthcare receivables, solar energy system loans, automobile loans and leases, and commercial telecommunications equipment receivables. Cory also represents private investment funds in connection with repurchase facilities relating to mortgage and other alternative real estate assets. He has been involved in the structuring and negotiation of novel private financing transactions including acquisition financing of various types of loans and other assets.
Cory has experience working on assignment at a client’s debt capital markets origination desk, where he supported the corporate bond underwriting platform and advised on financing transactions and related regulatory matters.
