PYMNTS TV sat down with Morgan Lewis partner Jon Roellke at the American Bar Association’s 2022 Antitrust Law Spring Meeting as part of the “Voices from the ABA” video series providing an outlook on the US antitrust landscape.
According to Jon, a renewed antitrust approach to big platforms is not unique to the United States, noting both European and UK regulators have been active for many years with more experience in regulating major market participants. As a result, this has led to closer collaboration among US and EU regulators to enforce competition policies. Jon noted that this could have caused a shift in the US model to be closer to the EU’s but “shouldn’t be a race to the bottom.”
