Partner Ron Del Sesto spoke to Bloomberg Law about final guidelines recently adopted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a voluntary labeling program to inform Americans on the cybersecurity standards of the internet-connected devices they buy.
In discussing some of the details that need to be clarified, particularly with respect to which entities will qualify as an accrediting body and how they will be funded, Ron said: “If you’re one of the labeling entities, how are you going to have the money to do what the FCC is talking about?”
