Ashley R. Lynam
Ashley R. Lynam is widely recognized for her work defending corporate negligence and institutional sexual abuse claims. Combining front-line prosecutorial experience with sophisticated crisis-management leadership, Ashley guides companies through investigations and litigation that threaten organizational integrity, shareholder value, and public trust with an emphasis on long-term risk management.
Known for her ability to pair trauma-informed advocacy with a formidable defense, Ashley manages complex litigation while advising boards and executive teams on long-term risk mitigation, corporate governance, and institutional response strategies. She is routinely sought out for her steady judgment in the most sensitive, high-visibility matters involving allegations of misconduct, institutional failure, or systemic risk.
Ashley represents a wide array of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, financial and professional services firms, sports organizations, technology platforms, hospitality brands, healthcare systems, pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, religious institutions, and social-service organizations. Industry-agnostic and statutorily fluent, she has investigated and litigated claims involving the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA/TVPRA), Section 230, the Take It Down Act and related CSAM reporting regimes, CAPTA, the PROTECT Act, PREA, the Safe Sport Act, Title IX, VAWA and its reauthorizations, the Clery Act, and numerous state-based mandatory reporting, child protection, and tort-based duties owed to corporate constituents.
Ashley also counsels corporate leadership through negotiations with regulators and enforcement bodies, including state attorneys general, the US Department of Justice, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the US Food and Drug Administration, and the US Department of Education. Her insight into regulatory expectations—coupled with her experience managing reputationally sensitive matters—positions her as a trusted advisor to boards, general counsel, and crisis-response teams.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Ashley served as the youngest and first female chair of a prominent Philadelphia law firm, where she built a nationally recognized institutional response and defense practice. Her business acumen and leadership experience continue to shape her work on behalf of clients confronting challenges at the intersection of law, culture, safety, and organizational trust.
