Keir Baker advises clients on complex commercial disputes, including litigation before the High Court of England and Wales and arbitrations under various institutional rules. Keir regularly advises clients on disputes with potentially significant financial, reputational, and regulatory implications. His recent experience includes some of the most high-profile English litigations in recent years, including market-leading securities disputes and landmark aviation insurance recovery claims. The Legal 500 notes that clients consider Keir to be “accomplished beyond his years” and describe his work as “truly remarkable.”

Keir has particular experience advising institutional shareholders, asset managers, and other investors in complex securities and financial services litigation involving UK-listed companies. He has acted on several leading claims under Sections 90 and 90A of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, including cases where the English courts have considered novel questions of law relating to those provisions.

Keir was previously seconded to Morgan Lewis’s Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices, where he advised regional and international clients on a variety of matters under the laws of the United Arab Emirates, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

In addition to his commercial practice, Keir is vice chair of the Pro Bono Committee of Morgan Lewis’s London office. In this role, he coordinates the office’s extensive pro bono activities across the firm’s practice areas while maintaining an active pro bono practice representing low-income or vulnerable individuals and charitable organisations in a range of disputes.
