Stephanie L. Roberts
Stephanie Roberts litigates high-stakes intellectual property disputes, focusing on Section 337 investigations before the US International Trade Commission (ITC). She has specialized knowledge of ITC-specific issues, including domestic industry, injury, remedy, bond, and public interest. Stephanie has represented complainants, respondents, and third parties in more than 40 ITC investigations, involving a wide array of technologies, including mechanical devices, standard essential video coding technology, and wireless technology. She also has litigated claims in the ITC concerning trade secret misappropriation, copyright, trademark infringement, and unfair competition.
In addition to her ITC litigation, Stephanie routinely represents clients in district court and appeals at the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals (Federal Circuit).
Utilizing her engineering background, Stephanie has also prosecuted patent applications for many different technologies, including mechanical and software technologies, and patent applications for beverage dispensers, household products, and banking software. Additionally, Stephanie also experience with inter partes review proceedings and ex parte review proceedings at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Prior to her legal career, Stephanie was an engineer at a semiconductor manufacturer, where she led problem-solving teams for complex equipment, process, and defect issues in lithography and wet etch process areas. She also worked for an aerospace company, where she conducted thermal analysis on space shuttle water lines, air lines, and landing gear.

- Represented several wireless technology companies in a patent infringement investigation involving networking products at the ITC, as well as in the investigation’s appeal at the Federal Circuit
- Represented a manufacturer of C. botulinum toxin in an investigation at the ITC involving trade secret and unfair act allegations
- Represented an electronics corporation at the ITC in a patent infringement investigation involving fiber optic cables and connectors
- Represented an industrial parts company in a patent infringement investigation involving polycrystalline diamond compacts at the ITC, and an appeal of the ITC investigation at the Federal Circuit
- Represented a leading electronics corporation at the ITC in three investigations involving patent infringement and unfair acts relating to light emitting diode products
- Represented a medical device manufacturer in several investigations at the ITC involving allegations of misappropriation of trade secrets
- Represented a prominent printer company in a patent infringement investigation at the ITC
- Represented a company in a patent infringement investigation ITC investigation involving solar technology
- Represented a leading battery manufacturer in a patent infringement investigation at the ITC seeking a general exclusion order
- Represented a company in a patent infringement investigation at the ITC involving baby carriers
- Represented a consumer and commercial cleaning products company in a trademark and trade dress infringement investigation at the ITC
