Morgan Lewis Wins Lion’s Share of McLaren Claim Against Racing Driver Palou, The Lawyer

The Lawyer profiled Morgan Lewis’s success in a judgment ordering IndyCar champion Alex Palou to pay more than $12 million to McLaren Racing after breaching his contract with the team.

The judge wrote, “I am clear, in the circumstances, that a reasonable person in the defendants’ position would contemplate that loss of sponsorship income was liable to result from their breach of contract.”

Morgan Lewis represented McLaren Racing in the case, which was named one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2025.
