Evan K. Jacobs

While in law school, Evan served as a notes editor on the Georgetown Law Journal and competed as a member of the moot court team. At Penn State, Evan was the Executive Director for the Penn State Dance MaraTHON, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, which has raised more than $147 million for children and their families battling childhood cancer.

• Represented leading global health service company in high-profile complex breach of contract and declaratory judgment lawsuit against pharmacy benefits managers (PBM).
• Represented  leading global health services company in nationwide class action challenging pharmaceutical benefits practices under ERISA and RICO.
• Represented one of the world’s leading food and beverage companies in the defense of breach of contract claims asserted in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey by the Assignee for the Benefit of Creditors appointed to oversee the liquidation of the client’s former regional supplier of corrugated boxes, as well as in the defense of preference claims asserted by the Assignee in New Jersey state court. Both cases settled favorably on the eve of trial.
• Represented a prominent national university in actions in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Western District of Tennessee regarding alleged breaches of material transfer agreements and patent infringement relating to client's cancer treatment.  Both cases resolved favorably.
• Represented one of the world’s leading food and beverage companies in the defense of a breach of contract action seeking in excess of $30 million of damages, and the prosecution of indemnity claims against third parties, in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  Obtained summary judgment dismissing the bulk of Plaintiff’s case, after which the lawsuit favorably resolved.  
• Represented the world's leading orthopedic implant manufacturer in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey in the defense of equitable and legal claims of unfair competition and tortious interference asserted by an industry competitor stemming from allegations of corporate raiding of sales representatives.
• Represented international and national pharmaceutical companies in numerous False Claims and qui tam matters, resulting in multiple motion to dismiss victories or favorable settlements.  Evan has significant experience managing all aspects of complex electronic discovery for these matters.
