Liangyu Mao advises and counsels on various employment and compliance issues. She regularly prepares employment-related documents, including documents for recruitment and terminations under various scenarios and various industries. She also provides on-site support for clients in strike cases and termination meetings. Liangyu helps the team with a variety of labor disputes with different cause of actions (e.g., claims related to unpaid bonus, wrongful termination claims, claims for equity awards, etc.), including preparing litigation documents and attending hearings. Liangyu further assists with employment and compliance due diligence in merger and acquisition transactions.
Liangyu Mao has extensive experience in investigation projects with respect to a wide range of issues, including bribery and corruption, fraud, conflicts of interest, sexual harassment, anti-bullying and non-retaliation in the workplace and other forms of employee misconduct. Liangyu works with the team on a variety of investigations for multinational companies involving potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act (UKBA) and general PRC anti-corruption laws and of local or company anti-sexual harassment and other workplace conduct rules. She has significant experience conducting document review, including creating and narrowing down search terms, and analyzing and assessing evidence. She also has experience conducting witness interviews and preparing evidence for regulatory and litigation purposes. Liangyu also has unique experience advising on employment assessments coming out of completed investigations and advises clients with respect to the next steps from an employment perspective after the investigation has closed.
Liangyu is fluent in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English and has passed the Chinese bar examination.
