Megan A. Suehiro counsels and defends companies in privacy, cybersecurity, and other consumer protection and class action matters. She regularly counsels clients on alleged violations of the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA), Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA), Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), California Consumers Legal Remedies Act (CLRA), Song-Beverly Credit Card Act, anti-spam laws, and various other state privacy and unfair and deceptive practices laws. She helps clients proactively manage litigation risks while balancing their unique business needs and strategies.

Megan has spent nearly a decade advising and defending retailers, consumer products manufacturers, and ecommerce companies against various privacy and consumer protection claims. She is focused on helping clients find practical solutions in the ever-evolving internet privacy and ecommerce landscape and has counseled hundreds of clients on best practices to mitigate litigation risk before claims are filed. She has successfully defended privacy, false advertising, unfair business practices, and “wiretapping” claims in state and federal courts, handling all aspects of these cases from inception through trial. She has second-chaired three bench trials, securing complete judgment on behalf of the client in all three.

Megan is a partner in the firm’s privacy and cybersecurity litigation practice and a member of the firm’s Class Action Working Group.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Megan was admitted to the partnership of the largest law firm in Hawaii.

While in law school, Megan was a Dean’s Scholar and served as a judicial extern to Judge Susan Oki Mollway, former Chief Judge of the US District Court for the District of Hawaii.
