Morgan Lewis Seminars

Employment and Immigration Update

Wednesday, September 19, 2012
01:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time

Please join us for a two-part seminar that will discuss recent developments in employment and immigration law.

During the first part of this seminar, our Employment team will provide insight on the current redundancy law and practical issues to overcome in light of recent cases. This year has seen some interesting cases in the arena of redundancy, including dealing with appropriate selection pools and the question of "establishment". In the current economic climate, redundancy remains a core issue for employers - one which is important to get right. We'll also discuss the government's proposed changes to collective redundancy rules.

Many sponsors will be applying to extend their sponsorship licences over the coming months and facing a potential compliance visit from the UK Border Agency. In the second part of this seminar, our Immigration team will address common pitfalls in compliance and provide guidance on how to maintain your licence.

This seminar will be of interest to in-house lawyers, HR professionals, and legal advisors.
