Timothy P. Matthews
With a background in the nuclear power industry, Timothy P. Matthews represents and counsels electric utilities, nuclear industry suppliers, and other licensees before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Department of Labor (DOL), and other regulatory agencies, and in US federal courts. He counsels clients in investigations, discrimination allegations, and regulatory compliance matters. He also advises on matters related to new nuclear plant development, electric utility industry restructuring, and complex disputes including mediation, arbitration, and litigation in US state and federal courts.
Tim played a significant role in the complex litigation and arbitration that followed outages at the Millstone, Connecticut, and Davis-Besse nuclear power plants. He also counsels clients in investigations, discrimination allegations, and regulatory compliance matters.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Tim worked as a project manager with the Nuclear Management and Resources Council (NUMARC) in Washington, DC, and as congressional liaison with the Office of the Secretary of the Navy. In the US Navy, he served as a nuclear-trained officer, including on nuclear-powered warships as chief engineer.
