Reece foresees that the California Privacy Protection Agency is “likely to make its presence felt in 2024” when a state court–imposed enforcement restriction lifts, adding that it would not come as a surprise if the agency brought an action targeting a California employer, considering the state’s privacy law is presently the only one to include employee and human resources data.
