SEC Has Path to Expedite Shareholder Refereeing as Shutdown Ends, Bloomberg Law
13 novembre 2025Partner Fred Block spoke to Bloomberg Law for an article about how the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will handle the backlog of disputes between companies and investors over annual meeting proposals, following the reopening of the federal government.
Fred told the publication that the SEC will triage the pile of request letters and assign workers to prioritize straightforward, less controversial cases. He also noted that time constraints are an issue with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching and SEC staff’s hours capped by their union.
“You’re trying to do more with less,” Fred said.
