Cristina A. Ashba is part of a team that represents diverse clients in a broad range of litigation matters, with extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, internal investigations, False Claims Act litigation, and securities litigation. Cristina has experience litigating and advising clients on aspects of mortgage-backed securities.

Extended Profile

Cristina is a member of the firm’s Class Action Working Group, and has experience representing clients in securities class actions and mortgage servicing class actions. Cristina also led the defense of a large financial institution against a series of class action and individual claims in federal and state court arising out of the mortgage loan crisis.

In addition, she devotes time to pro bono activities and has obtained asylum for a client in detention suffering religious persecution in his home country. She has defended unlawful detainer actions on behalf of San Francisco’s lower-income citizens.

During Cristina’s legal education, she served as an executive editor on the Hastings Law Journal, as an intern at the California Attorney General’s office, and as an extern for Judge William Alsup of the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Prior to her legal career, Cristina worked in commercial property management in San Francisco.
